We passionately believe in the move to make the UK’s housing stock, community and commercial buildings as energy efficient as possible – both for retrofit application and in the development of new structures.

We believe that the best standards to aim for to achieve these aims is AECB or Passivhaus.

    Certifications

    Passivhaus

    Passivhaus is an international standard for energy efficiency in buildings, it is performance based and applies equally to new-builds and refurbishments.

    The Passive House Planning Package (PHPP) is the model used to guide the design of a functioning Passivhaus, calculating the energy usage. At Greengauge we believe that using this compliance tool delivers against the Passivhaus principles and should be used wherever possible, whether seeking accreditation or not.

    The Association of Environment Conscious Building is a network of organisations promoting sustainable building. The AECB Building Standard is aimed at those wishing to create high-performance buildings using widely available technology.
