What do you do at Greengauge?
I design mechanical and electrical systems for a variety of buildings, from single dwellings to blocks of flats to mid-size commercial buildings; both new builds and renovations, including listed properties.
What motivates you to wake up and go to work?
To make sure our clients get what they expect, and figure out new ways to make our deliverables more robust and effective.
What has been your favourite project so far?
Probably Goldsmiths Street. I learnt a lot, it was the first project I worked on entirely in 3D, and the social character of the development makes it really special.
If you could switch jobs with anyone (in any industry), who would it be?
A lighthouse keeper. To be away temporarily from the fast-paced working environment nowadays would be nice.
What do you like most about your job?
Every day gives you a chance to learn something new.
What’s something most people don’t know about you?
I am a fan of classic arcade games.
What’s your favourite blog (any topic/industry)?
The BIM Channel, there is always interesting information about standards, practical cases, etc.
Do you have a party trick?
I am a master of Irish Goodbyes.
What are your hopes for our industry?
To see a digitalisation of the industry (more control of the whole process, reduction of waste, quality assurance, etc.), in line with the adoption of the Passivhaus as the standard.
What is on your bucket list?
To visit the Legoland in Denmark.
